Certificate IV Ministry (Leadership)

This Certificate program is conducted in association with Alphacrucis University College and provides either an accreditation in Ministry or Units may be undertaken as Audit units.   This program will become a basis for Licensing as a Lay Minister throughout the diocese.   If you would like to participate in this program, please contact your Parish Priest or apply directly on-line

FAQ's

How much time is needed per subject of study?
Each unit of study has about 40 mins of content to watch and some reading material and assessments.   Meeting with your church leader to discuss your learning and how it can be applied in your church context is encouraged.   It is recommended to allow 6-8 hours per week per unit.

What kind of assessments will I need to complete?
For many subjects there are open book quizzes based on course content and readings as well as 2 to 3 assessments to complete in the form of essays, reflections, devotional tasks and small projects.

What is involved in the placement units?
Placement units require you to have a mentor and a specific area of ministry to serve in at your church.   Reading a textbook is a requirement, along with engagement in practical experiences.   A portfolio of work will be required at the end of the placement unit.

How do I apply?
Go to the AC website https://www.ac.edu.au/quercus/ select Certificate IV in Ministry(insert stream) as your course and Local Church- Facilitated Online Studies as the location.
